Negative life experiences can influence the way we see ourselves. This can lead to the development of negative conclusions about ourselves, which is referred to as negative core beliefs.

The negative self belief challenge helps to combat negative core beliefs.

Here's how:

First, write out three negative beliefs you hold about yourself.

It's also useful to include details on why you feel this way.

Then, go to someone that you trust, such as your parent, sibling or friend and ask them to comment upon each of your negative beliefs.

With their help, try to gently adapt these negative beliefs into realistic and constructive ones. This can take time.

Write the new constructive and adjusted beliefs down as well and display this somewhere you will see it often.

This will serve as a constant reminder to try to replace negative beliefs with realistic and constructive beliefs.
